Steve has been working with puppets since 1989. He formed Indefinite Articles with his partner, Sally Todd, in 1995 to make theatre from objects and materials, their recent show Claytime: an improvised show made with clay and under-fives, will soon reach its 500th performance.
He has performed with Improbable Theatre on 70 Hill Lane and Animo, Theatre Rites in Houseworks and the Welsh National Opera in The Queen of Spades. He was artistic director at the Little Angel where he has directed ten shows including Jabberwocky and The Mouse Queen which had a run at the New Victories Theatre on Broadway.
As a puppet director he has worked at the RSC on nine shows including Venus and Adonis and Midsummer Night’s Dream (directed by Greg Doran), National Theatre of Wales: The Dark Philosophers, National Theatre of Scotland: Menage a Trois as well as Loves Labours Lost and Dr. Faustus for the Globe Theatre,
