Chris Randall is an animator and film-maker who works with animation in all its forms. Concentrating predominantly in the medium of stop-motion, his studio’s repertoire of commercial work encompasses film production for all platforms and audiences, including a decade-long body of work in theatrical projection design.
His approach to every project is to combine hand wrought experimentation with high-end execution whether the images are hand-drawn, digitally forged or captured in-camera with models and puppets.
His recent project ‘Pilsner Urquell’s Legends’ won a British Animation Award for Best Commercial and his animated short films consistently screen at film festivals worldwide. His earliest animated contributions to children’s television won Promax World Gold design awards in three consecutive years.
Earlier still, he worked as a modelmaker and assistant cameraman in visual effects for film and television. Before that he worked as a stage-hand and fly-man, giving him an insight and parallel interest in theatre and puppetry, both of which inform his work as a projection designer for theatre.
