Forbes Masson

Mr Tumnus

Forbes Masson is best known for his comedy partnership with Alan Cumming, originally as the Perrier Award nominees Victor and Barry.  They then co-wrote and starred in BBC TV 's airline cult comedy The High Life.  Masson’s other television appearances include Red Dwarf, EastEnders, Is it Bill Bailey? and A Young Person’s Guide to Becoming a Rock Star.  He is an Associate Artist with the RSC. He recently played Jaques in Michael Boyd’s RSC production of As You Like It,  and Friar Lawrence in Rupert Goold’s RSC production of  Romeo and Juliet. Both shows toured to the Park Lane Armory, New York. His other theatre credits include Merlin in Greg Doran’s RSC production of Morte d’Arthur and the Fool in Rupert Goold's production of King Lear (Liverpool Playhouse/Young Vic). In addition, he has also recorded many dramas and comedies for BBC Radio 4. Masson has written and composed a series of critically acclaimed musicals; Stiff (Royal Lyceum, Edinburgh), Mince, nominated for a TMA Award, and Pants (Dundee Rep Theatre). His most recent musical comedy Crackers, directed by Michael Fentiman, will be revived by the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry in late 2012.  He is also an Associate Artist with the National Theatre of Scotland.
