Maugrim and Giant Rumblebuffin [Understudy Professor & Father Christmas]

Having finished a 3 year stint with the RSC at the end of last year, David then performed in two plays at Battersea Arts Centre, These Trees are Made of Blood and Sunday Morning at the Centre of the World and in a film, Playing With Fire, before joining The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe company. Here he reunites with Rupert Goold and Michael Fentiman, who were also part of the RSC’s 3 year Ensemble. Theatre productions include Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Morte D’Arthur, two productions of Julius Caesar, The Winter’s Tale, American Trade, Anthony and Cleopatra and The Tempest and his one man show Split Second (Royal Shakespeare Company), The Threepenny Opera, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, As You Like It, two productions of Twelfth Night and The Tempest (National Theatre), Stomp (London and Athens), Five Guys Named Moe (Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith and West End), In the Midnight Hour (Young Vic Theatre), Godspell (Barbican), The Red Balloon (National Theatre and Birmingham Rep) The Overcoat and Taylor’s Dummies (Gecko Theatre Company), Fight Face and Juicy Bits (Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith), Encounters’ Sharrow Stories (Crucible Theatre, Sheffield), Sleeping Beauty (Theatre Royal, Stratford East), Company and Duck Variations (New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich), The Wizard of Oz (Oldham Coliseum), 100 (The Imaginary Body), The Legend of King Arthur (Red Shift), Macbeth (Chester Gateway), Cyrano de Bergerac (Theatre Royal, Northampton) and Hamlet, Paula’s Story and The Attraction (Chickenshed).
Television includes EastEnders, The Passion, Holby City, Walking with Cavemen, Sitting Pretty, Dalziel and Pascoe and Mysteries of July as well as many kids’ TV shows early in his career: Number 73, Playdays, Zig-Zag, Nickelodeon, Watch, Good Health, The DJ Kat Show.
Film includes Brooms, Crossover, After a Time, Running Time, Playing With Fire.
David was a founding member of 'The Company' at Chickenshed Theatre as actor, writer and director, and is an Associate Practitioner for the RSC and National Theatre.
He has two daughters, Molly, 16, and Maya,15.
